Meet the Attorneys

MATTHEW A. SCHWEIZER graduated from Appalachian State University with his Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, then continued on to receive a Master Degree in Public Administration. After leaving Appalachian State, Matthew studied law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his law degree and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1997.

Since that time, he has served thousands of clients, primarily in areas related to eminent domain and both residential and commercial real estate law. Now, he is focusing his expertise on serving clients here in Garner.

When he’s not working, he’s enjoying NC State football and UNC basketball.

JODIE YOUNG-JACKSON graduated from Emory University with a dual major in Psychology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a minor in Statistical and Quantitative Methods. After her undergraduate education, she began her graduate studies at the University of Florida in Neuropsychology, specializing in external neuromodulation such as transcutaneous vagal nerve stimulation and transcranial magnetic stimulation. Following her time in Florida, she returned to her home state of North Carolina to obtain her J.D. at the UNC School of Law.

Jodie has worked in multiple legal disciplines including family law, civil litigation, and real estate. Since joining Schweizer & Associates, she has focused all of her energy on real estate law and is always eager to help clients facing eminent domain, both in and out of court.

In her spare time, you will find Jodie enjoying the great Carolinian outdoors or playing a game of air hockey.

Meet Our Paralegals

Alexandra Downey graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2022 with a B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies, and a minor in Spanish. She was also a Green Greeks Representative for her sorority to Sustainable Carolina. Outside of work, she loves to read and spend time with friends and family.

Gia Alimenti graduated from Virginia Tech in May of 2023 with a B.S. in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, alongside a minor in Adaptive Brain and Behavior. Her extracurricular time as an undergraduate was spent as a member of the university’s dance team, where she participated in national and regional community outreach, alumni relation events, as well as overall crowd engagement for HokieSports. She also served on the

Alexandra Downey graduated from Townson University with a B.A. in History. Her extracurricular time as an undergraduate was spent as an editor for the Journal of Historical Studies. She also presented research, including on Japanese fashion from a historical and political lens. She has been an excellent, and very detail oriented, member of our team since early 2025.

Cara Dean graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.A. in Mass Communications. While in undergrad, she worked in multiple positions in various law offices to gain experience in the legal field. After graduation, she has worked as a full time paralegal since 2024 and has a passion for client interfacing and trial related tasks. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting the National Parks and volunteering.
