Meet the Lawyers at Schweizer & Associates

Matthew A. Schweizer graduated from Appalachian State University with his Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, then continued on to receive a Master Degree in Public Administration. After leaving Appalachian State, Matthew studied law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his law degree and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1997.

Since that time, he has served thousands of clients, primarily in areas related to eminent domain and both residential and commercial real estate law. Now, he is focusing his expertise on serving clients here in Garner.

When he’s not working, he’s enjoying NC State football and UNC basketball.

Meet our Paralegals

Sydney Hafner graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August 2021 with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in Public Policy and Women’s and Gender Studies. As an undergraduate, Sydney worked in UNC’s network of makerspaces where she helped students, faculty, and researchers bring their design ideas to life using technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters, electronics, and wood shop machinery. She also has experience in project management, training development, and outdoor education. In her free time, Sydney likes to go on hikes, try out new recipes, go to the gym, and relax with friends and family.

Kate Safrit graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2022 with a B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies, and a minor in Spanish. She was also a Green Greeks Representative for her sorority to Sustainable Carolina. Outside of work, she loves to read and spend time with friends and family.

Kaylie Blake graduated from Virginia Tech in May of 2023 with a B.S. in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, alongside a minor in Adaptive Brain and Behavior. Her extracurricular time as an undergraduate was spent as a member of the university’s dance team, where she participated in national and regional community outreach, alumni relation events, as well as overall crowd engagement for HokieSports. She also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and heavily participated in the Next Level Leadership Seminar program. In her downtime she loves running and exploring new coffee spots in the area. 

Julia Ogden graduated from Meredith College in may of 2023 with a B.A in Political Science and History with a concentration in Public Affairs. During undergrad, she interned for the Borgen Project and served on the Honor Council. When she isn’t at work she enjoys hiking with her dog, Daisy, and going to concerts.
