Why a Real Estate Lawyer May Save You Time and Money

Who out there does not know that the real estate market is hot, hot, hot right now.  If this is news to you, you may have been living in a bubble.

Houses are selling faster than ever.  Interest rates are low.  Homes are in demand.

If you are thinking about buying or selling a house, you may want to seriously consider working with a real estate attorney – especially in this market.

Real estate attorneys can save you time and money.   A real estate attorney can:

  • Review your purchase contract;
  • Draft your Deed;
  • Negotiate on your behalf;
  • Help you avoid title issues;
  • Record your deed

Ahh, fall is here. Summer is fading and the leaves are starting to change.  The days are growing shorter and the nights are getting cooler.

Fall is the perfect time to review your estate plan. Why?  Well, as the seasons are changing, you may start thinking about your life changes this past year.

Plus, the cooler days are great for curling up on the couch with a cup of tea or a glass of wine.  Get that fire going and start reviewing your estate plan.

We’ve created this handy checklist to get you started.

The Happy Lawyer Corner

The Happy Lawyer is now offering her estate planning clients a complimentary one year membership in DocuBank.  What is DocuBank?  Glad you asked.

DocuBank stores your Health Care Power of Attorneys and Living Wills so your medical professionals can access those documents 24 hours a day.   You can even store copies of your wills and other documents in your own membership bank.

You get a DocuBank emergency card that you carry in your wallet.  The card lets you, your loved ones and hospital staff get a copy of your documents by fax or email.  Your doctors can also receive important emergency information to help you receive better care such as your medical conditions, medications, emergency contact information and any known allergies.

We’re always up to something here at Schweizer & Associates.

We’re starting back with our community service projects.  Last month, Kristen Mackintosh, participated in the Garner United Methodist Back to School Bash.  She had a lot of fun distributing school supplies to parents and children.

We also have started back our monthly social activities.  We decided to meet for breakfast at The Muse Coffee Company and Roastery.  We ended up having a nice time, laughing and getting better acquainted.  The food and coffee were great, too.

Fall is here.  Time to enjoy the cooler weather.  Not sure what to do?  Don’t worry, we have you covered.  Here is our Fall Bucket List of Fun Activities to Try:
  1. Jump into a pile of leaves – be a kid again;
  2. Drive up to the mountains to view the fall leaves;
  3. Get lost in a corn maze;
  4. Go apple picking;
  5. Tailgate at a football game;
  6. Host a bonfire and roast marshmallows;
  7. Cozy up in front of a fire with cups of hot cider or hot chocolate;
  8. Go on a hay ride;
  9. Plant fall flowers;
  10. Burn fall scented candles.
Did you know Kristen Mackintosh, The Happy Lawyer, presents a webinar every month?  The webinars are held on the last Wednesday of the month at noon.

Did you miss last month’s webinar?  No worries. You can watch it here:
